My new Coalmen art from Rootie Patooti and more ornaments of course!

This is what I've been doing in my spare time (early morning, late night) lately.  My Christmas ornaments are doing great once again.  I got over 40 orders within the first 48 hours that I posted them.  So Thank You friends!  Hope you enjoy them.

Here's a few more examples.

Finally about half way done, 27 finished today.

I've been so busy lately with our Christmas Open House at the Central City Depot and ornament orders that this week has just flown by.  I just went over to On Main today to pick up my Rootie Patooti's Coalmen watercolor that I had ordered during Greenville's Open House last weekend.   Isn't it sweet!

Look closely and you'll see that she gave the momma coalman curly hair like me.

My friend Kelli suggested the snowman picts to me a while back.  I fell in love with  the coalmen when I first saw them.  I can officially now say that I'm a fan and collector of Rootie Patootie's Art.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Fine as Frog Hair

Yesterday I went to the foot doctor, he gave me a good'ol shot in the foot and now as my friend "Country" says, it feels as fine as frog hair.  I can't believe the difference.   Last night I iced it and took my IBU while working on my Christmas ornaments for a while.  I got up this morning with no tenderness or pain.  YES!  Finally some relief.
I have received over a dozen of ornament orders since yesterday.  I have many request for some military and public safety, so you'll see them soon.  Here's the "Coal Hearted" one's that I've been working on.

Today is our preview sale at the Depot.  Tomorrow and Saturday is Open House, Parade Sunday!  I just love this time of year.  Start getting your "Merry" on, but only after being "Thankful" this week for it.

Taking each day ONE STEP at a time

As rainy and yucky as today was, it was a pretty good day.  Lane had PT this morning and made some really good progress.  Its been 4 weeks since his surgery and today was the day that he started some weight bearing therapy.  He's been non weight bearing for about 7 1/2 weeks.  I think he was really excited that he did so well.  It was almost like watching his first step 13 years ago.  I was a very proud Momma!

This is his PT Mr. Alton.  These two are like two peas in a pod.

After I dropped the boys off at the house, I made a little run to the mines to drop off a little Christmas Cheer.  I also got to sneak in a few minutes with my sweetie.  Usually when I'm there he's underground but  today I caught him in between shift change, so here's my dirty coal miner at his finest.

Talked to some of my Coal Family too, this is Jarret a.k.a. Country and John T.

Kris taking a break in his office.  Wouldn't you agree that its screaming "Misty, come decorate me!"
I could just see some zebra print up in this place.

Michael in his office, pretending to work. lol  It could use some help in the color/ decor department as well.

Hope you enjoyed your Tuesday.  I got quite a few things finished and behind me today.  Turkey Day will be here soon, can't wait to spend it with The Deason's and The Maddox's!   Have a Wonderful Wednesday!!!

What A Weekend

WOW!  What a weekend!!!  Filled with family, friendship, and love.  It just doesn't get any better than that.  This past Thursday night Kris' cousin Paige and 4 of her friends came down to Ky for a visit with the family before making their Nashvegas road trip.  I enjoyed having them in my home and can't wait for their next visit.  I wasn't for sure what #5 21 year olds would enjoying doing with us 30 something year olds. lol  But they seemed to have had fun and enjoyed their visit.  Thursday night we had a wiener roast and stayed up late catching up.  Friday morning I worked half a day and they got to sleep in.  We met up for lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant El Bracero, did a little hometown shopping, visited some family and then went to eat again at The Purple Onion.  After a quick trip to Wal-Mart for some odd and ends we just hung out at the house.

Paige, Ryan, Mike, Alison, and Stefanie

Me and my PaigePoo!

Paige sharing childhood memories of her trips to Kentucky.  Remembering all the family gatherings that use to happen on that front porch right behind her.  Her Great Grandfathers house (below) was purchased from an old Coal Company many many moons ago.  A lot of Dennis family history and memories in that old home. The tornado in 2008 put it out of commission.

Look at this precious gift that she brought along with her.  I just love it.

It even lights up and has exchangeable panels with cute lil quotes.

Kris scored some sweet tickets Friday night for the UK game.  He said his night with Coach Cal was an unbelievable experience.  He loved the fact that he was so close and could see and hear his coaching.  Kris is in the blue pull over left to Michael who has his hand over his mouth. lol

Wonder what he said that has Kris' attention?  Evidently not too much, considering Michael can't stay off his phone.  I think Kris was just in "love" hehe

And here was my lovely view of the game.

Saturday was my nephew Payton's Birthday Party.  We celebrated with family and friends.  Had cake and ice cream and opened lots of gifts.

This being one of his favorites!!!

After the birthday celebration we headed to O'boro for some Christmas shopping.  We ended up stuffing our face with goodies rather than shopping for gifts.  We enjoyed some hot cocoa at Books A Million and then had some good ol' jap food.  Of course I had to make a stop at Hobby Lobby and Tuesday Morning, 2 of my favorite hot spots.

When we got home I realized that the girls had left Karson a sweet lil note on his chalkboard wall.  I think it made him blush.

Sunday was Christmas Open House in Greenville.  Two of my friends (Kelli & Jenny) and myself hooked up for lunch and then did a lil warming up for Black Friday.  I love our little local stores and boutiques.  I work at one of them on Thursday, so much fun!  We for sure have our "Merry" on now.  Black Friday Beware!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I just love spending mine with family and friends instead of the sink or washing machine......oh for you Yankees that came to visit......I meant my warrrrrshing machine;)

1st Tree Tis The Season

I actually do not put up Christmas in my home until after Thanksgiving.  But I do start my crafting right after Halloween.  I decided to make my Christmas bulbs again this year.  I've made them for several years but kinda got burned out from the overload of request so I didn't make last year.  But now I'm excited to do them once again.  This lil tree is for the AMS girls at Kris' mine.  Considering everything out there is covered in coal dust, I thought they might like a lil sassy holiday cheer.  Some pretty things for some pretty girls.

I'm going to take it to them sometime this next week.  Hope they like it.  Now I want one for my house.
Maybe a UK tree for my boys.

I am taking orders until my supplies run out.  The glass bulbs are $10.00 each that include ribbon with front and back personalization.   Right now my in stock bulb colors are Red, Pink, Black, Gold, & Silver. For out of townees, shipping is not included.  But I will get the best rate available.  You can email me at krismisty@bellsouth.net.  Happy Crafting to all you Holiday Crafters out there.  Now time to get ready for Grenville's Christmas Open House....Love it!

Today my dad turned 21, ooops I mean 61!  So Happy Birthday to the most HANDSOME, SWEETEST, LOVABLE, TENDER HEARTED dad I know.  I love you!

For as long as I can remember, my dad has always made beach babes every time we went to the beach.  It started when I was just a tiny tot.

Coal Mining T-Shirts & Congrats Katie & Pat

One of the AMS girls at Kris' mine is doing another t-shirt order.   They are $12.00 each, you must pay her in advance because she drives to Louisville to pick them up and doesn't charge us anything extra for that.  You can contact her at shandybaize@ymail.com.  Here are some of the t's that she is selling.

I have the Peace, Love, Coal t-shirt and I receive a lot of compliments on it.

Today Kris' cousin Katie is getting married.  Due to Lane's surgery we couldn't commit to the trip to Chicago.   Just wanted to say Congrats to Katie & Pat!  Wish we were there with you to celebrate your Big Day!  Hope to see the newlyweds soon!

Now off the the laundry room I go!  Have a fabulous weekend!
