Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

This is my SWEET & ADORABLE cousin (by marriage) Paige....

And this is the most MAGICAL place on earth!

And what do these two have in common...

Well... It looks like Paige will be earning these in just a few months...
Can you say SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS?
Even though the sound of it
Is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough
You'll always sound precocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Yes, that's right!
Our Lil Pagiepoo will be packing her bags along with her pixie dust and will be headed down south to work for the mouse.  That's right!  Paige was accepted in the student program for Disney!  She will soon be a Disney Cast Member...How exciting is that?  We are so proud of her!  She's grown into such a beautiful & bright young lady.  So if you decided to visit the most magical place on earth after the New Year....Look for this sweet face.  You might just see her serving up some of this ............

or doing this................

And one day, possibly doing this........

Oh, how fun!  We'll at least she's got her foot in the door as her momma says.  The rest will follow.  I'm thinking that I'll need to make a visit, just to make sure she's doing ok. lol...Now, maybe I'll have an inside source to tell me what kind of lights (pixie dust) are flickering in the trees at Downtown Disney.  I could just sit and look at those lights all night long.  So magical...so relaxing.... I need them in my backyard.
Yes, I'm the crazy girl at the park looking in all the trees, just tryin to find one lil  hint.  But that's Disney.....you'll never know....that's part of the MAGIC!

So Congratulations Pagie, get your MOUSE on!

Homebound for Lane & Ky Coal Academy Open House

Today was such a nice fall day to be at home.   I put Karson on the bus and went back to bed for 2 hours, it was kinda nice.  Lane is now Homebound with school until we see his Otho specialist for a few weeks due to ANOTHER knee injury (on the good knee), so today seemed like a perfect day to sleep in.  Did much of nothing, besides laundry and keeping Lane entertained.  But this afternoon Kris and I went to MCC Ky Coal Academy's Open House and I got to see some of my ol' mine rescue gals.  I miss them so.  So any chance to see them,  I'm there!

Hello Whitehouse Family!  Taking tour of mine simulators and facility.

How cute was this?  Had to take a snap shot.

Had a wonderful time seeing lots of ol'  friends and past teammates.  Very proud of our Mine Rescue Team and their accomplishments this year.  As Master Chao would say....have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Progress In Chile

This morning as the kids are getting ready for school, I'm checking my emails, fb, blog, etc....I'm watching the today show and an update on the Chile Copper Mine Collapse is aired.  On Aug 5, 2010 a Chile Copper Mine collapsed trapping 33 miners.  All are alive but trapped possibly until Christmas.  Today's report said that the tunnel being drilled has reached the half way point.  Very good news!  And way ahead of schedule.   All miners seem to be in good health and good spirits.  As the mine rescue operations are taking place, family and friends are interacting with their loved one thru letters and live camera feed.  I've posted some picts to put a smile on your face!

Drilling

News that all 33 miners are alive and well has arrived.

Interacting by camera with Mine Officials, Family, & Friends

As the progress in Chile continues, so should our prayers for Camp Hope.  Pray that the Rescue Teams will have a clear mind so that their job is done to the highest capabilities with minimum mistakes.  Pray that families and friends at Camp Hope will draw strength from each other and the daily communication that comes from underground.  Pray that the trapped miners will be mentally and physically healed, as this is a very long process and will take toll on their body, mind, and spirit.  Pray for Patience, as it will be required among all.
And overall...Pray for all our miners.  That they are working in a safe conditions, well monitored and regulated.  That good decisions are made my federal/state inspectors, mine owners, mine management and employees.

Kris' Mine Rescue Trainer Danny sent this to me a while back and it has been posted on my frig for a while now.  Thought my coal family might like it as well.

COAL MINER’S WIFE

Everyday is the same, for a coal miner’s wife.
Alarm goes off, time to get up. Start another day in your life.

Gather his clothes, fix his bucket or more.
Before you know it, you’re there at the door.

With a hug and an extra kiss, he’s off on  his way.
Leaving to work again, for another long tiresome day.

As you watch him get in his vehicle, then pull from the drive.
You can’t help but wonder, “Will I get to again see him alive?

He travels down the shaft, of that deep dark hole.
Dark enough, for only a mole.

So you go on with your tasks, all through the day.
You catch yourself at times, just to stop and pray.

“Lord protect him in the mines, hide him inside your mighty hand.
Because I sure love him, and want to see him home again.”

So don’t take it for granite, when he returns home through your door.
It’s only the grace of God, that we’re together once more.

1 Clean Kitchen = 1 Tired Momma

Saturday was SAMS day....you know where you buy in bulk and save all that money, right?  Well it all started with "I need to clean out my frig and pantry before we make a Sams trip".  So Saturday I cleaned out the frig and pantry, went to Sams, had some good Jap Food, hit Pier 1 for some Halloween sneak peaks and then back home for a snuggle with my sweetie.

This morning I was able to sleep in til 9am.  It was wonderful considering that for a week I slept in the 1 1/2 chair in the living room due to the nasty yucks I had.  When I got up, Karson was upstairs playing the XBox, I asked him how long he'd been up and his comment was Ummmm.....I've have'nt been to bed yet.  WHAT????   Then I remembered, it was the first weekend after HaloReach had been released. Crazy kids... After a 4 hour nap, he just wasn't up to par, hopefully he'll get in bed early tonight.

Yesterday and today I cleaned my kitchen from top to bottom.  I would have to say that I had no ideal how bad it really was until I was down on my hands and knees.  I was so tired that dinner had not even entered my mind, So my sweet husband went to store and grilled up some of my favorites and boy was it good.

And after a total of 14 hours, I now have a clean kitchen from top to bottom, inside and out.  I don't remember my knees hurting so bad the last time I was on them scrubbing the floors. Old age must be creaping upon me faster than I thought.
Now, here's some food for thought..... I was thinking about throwing a new color on the walls, maybe a rust/terracotta/copper?  I've had the red for about 7 years now, still like it but it needs a fresh coat and maybe something a lil different.  What do you think?

So there's my splendid Sunday, hope you got out and enjoyed yours!  Or stayed at home if you had near the housework and laundry like I had.  Here's to good housekeeping!  Where did she come from?

Surprises Come When You Least Expect Them!

Today I worked the lil shop in town and by my surprise, one of my BFFs Terri Beth showed up with an awesome birthday cake that she made especially for me.  How sweet!

Isn't it a Beauty!!!

Karson had TKD after I got off work so we all got home a lil late tonight, had some McD's, homework, showers, etc....before I knew it,  here I was, by myself.  So I kinda feel like I should plan a dinner party tomorrow night, just for all my friends and family to enjoy this great cake.

Thanks TB, you're the GREATEST!  I really enjoyed your visit today....hope you enjoy your Nora Fleming Casserole dish as well.

Another Copy Cat Wreath - Ol' Crow

This past weekend one of my BFFs Jenny Bunch, her lil peep Kennedy, and myself decided to do a lil crafting.  We were INSPIRED by this blog http://www.justforrachel.com/2009/10/october-1st-here-is-my-halloween-wreath.html  to make these cute lil cheap crow wreaths for Halloween. Or you could just say we copied, again...lol   I tell ya.... easy-easy!

First spray paint wreaths to the desired color with 1 can of matte or flat black paint.  Glossy if you are a shinny kinda gal.  Paint $1.00  Wreaths are $3.99ea. at Hobby Lobby, but got mine 1/2 off  = 2 BUCKS!
Thanks mom!

Then cover with cobwebs from The Dollar Store = $1.00

Add a ribbon and an old crow.....$3 to $5.00.......Total Cost Around $8 Bucks!!!  and you gotta a spooky lil wreath for Halloween
.

SEE.....EASY EASY!
If you take a gander around on the same link, you will see our next weekend project.  I have a date with my bestie and her wonderful helpful crafty "i know how to use a saw" hubby Scottie B this next weekend to cut out the witch and cat silhouette. Will post picts of our creations soon.  Oh how I luv this time of year.

Coalhearted Wreath Ideal

I was looking for a way to make a poly mesh wreath when I came upon kristensonlinecreationsblogspot.com and found how to make an easy-easy door wreath.  I wanted something  fun, spunky, and colorful that I could use during late summer and fall with all my Witch & Goblins decor.  So I came up with this............The hubby "dislikes" it, I Luv it!   Go figure, I'm loud he's quite, I luv color he likes neutrals, I'm a busy body and he's more to himself.....so whats not to luv?  Is it the colors orange/purple/black/green? or the polka-dot &  zebra stripes?  Ok, so maybe a no-no for his office, but a definite YES for the Maddox household back door.  Crazy, but fun!  And I threw in a lil coal dust on it too!

Okay, so if you like, go to http://kristenscreationsonline.blogspot.com/2009/10/you-asked-for-it-tutorial-on-ribbonmesh.html  and learn to do it for yourself.....I'm telling you....Fast & Easy!

Ky State Mine Rescue Contest

Today my mine rescue peeps are in Lexington competing in the state contest with out Kris and I.  We miss them all so much, its such an honor to have served on a  team with such astonishing teammates.  The past 3 years have been some of the best.  They are like family, they'll never know how much they truly mean to us and what mine rescue has done for our family.  I'm very proud of my husband too, not many get chosen for this opportunity and excel in this area with the best of the best.  So to all my girls and The Kentucky Coal Academy Mine Rescue Team......Good Luck this week, enjoy and take it all in, cause you're gonna miss this!

Last Years Team.....Miss Ya ll!

My Girls!

The family after competition

If you are a coal family and don't know who serves on your mine rescue team, take an opportunity to find out.  These men are the backbone that may bring your husband, father, son, brother, or loved one home to you in case of a mine disaster.  We hope and pray these men never get called out, but when they do, they are the first ones in and the last ones out.  Tell them how much you appreciate them for their hard work and dedication.  These men are trained to sub stain harsh conditions physically and mentally.  And their families are at home, praying for the best not knowing what is being given to them.  Pray for them and keep them close to your hearts, I know I do mine!  I love you Ky Coal Academy and Thank You!

Lost And Never Found

So about 6 months ago I accidently deleted the wrong google account and lost my blog.  So I've been out of the blogging world as in communication for a while, although still following my favorites, its not the same.  So here we go again!
